Ashley's Bride Guide

Most of you are aware that I work with Ashley at Ashley's Bride Guide. It has been a great experience. If you haven't checked out the website, then you really must do so. It's is the best local resource for Middle TN brides. And, even if you aren't from the area, there is a ton of inspiration on there. Recently, the site got a little face lift. So, if you haven't visited us recently, you really need to hightail your butt over there to check it out. It's completely revamped and ready to meet your needs. And, be sure to let us know what you think about it. Feedback is always welcome! :)

The Sugar Doll Blog Award

On Thursday, I posted about receiving an award from Maria {@ A Chocolate Lover's Confessions}. I also got it from the Cape Cod Bride too. Well, I was supposed to tell you ten interesting facts about myself. ...'bout that... I'm really bad about talking about myself. I'm good at talking...just not about myself.

So, here I am...watching Some Like It Hot...trying to come up with ten facts about myself, that I haven't all ready mentioned when I got my first award!

#1 - I absolutely, positively do not feel like an adult. Every so often, I have to remind myself that I am no longer sixteen or seventeen.
#2 - I model my style after classic pieces and ladies; we're talking Vintage Glamour and Classic Hollywood.

#3 - I love a good sale...on anything. My favorite one so far is New York & Company's buy one pair of pants; get another one free. {i heart my new jeans}
#4 - I hate, hate, hate scary movies. The only time I'll watch 'em is if it's light outside, and I can pause it and walk away for awhile.
#5 - Winter is my favorite season. I adore snow; every thing always looks so pretty covered in it. {plus, Mr. GrapeJuice and I first met on a snow day} And, winter means the holiday season is upon us; I just love the smell of Christmas. :)

#6 - Ryan Reynolds is a fine piece of man. He is all kinds of dreamy and sexy. {yum} I would love to hang out with him for one night.
#7 - I like working out, but I totally lack the motivation to do it every day. {anyone have some advice?}
#8 - Chocolate is my favorite, especially when paired with peanut butter, caramel, or almonds.
#9 - I get really excited about watching Disney movies - especially the Princess ones. I've been told numerous times that I resemble Snow White. I even dressed up as her for Halloween two years ago.
#10 - I've played many different sports - basketball, soccer, softball, and volleyball - but I have the worst hand/eye coordination ever. Finally, I just gave up on the sports gig and now try to avoid them at all costs.

Ugh...that was super hard! It seriously took my over an hour to come up with ten facts about myself. That's so sad, isn't it??

Now, to pass this award to some fabulous bloggers.

Overwhelmed...in a Good Way

This week has been hard...in multiple ways. I won't go into much detail here because no one wants to read a sob story, but I've decided to leave my job. I love the kids and the school, but I just need something more. I will be working there until December and after that, I will begin full-time subbing in the surrounding school systems. I've talked to many people and have come to the conclusion that this is the only way to eventually get my own classroom. There has also been a lack communication going on at work which has resulted in more drama than I care to be involved in - which is why my week has sucked!

However, I am excited to be moving forward in my career! And, it has been wonderful to work in a different teaching environment than I am trained. :) So, over the next two months {can you believe that's all that is left in the year 2009???}, I will be filling out paperwork to become a substitute!

In somewhat lighter news, Maria over at A Chocolate Lover's Confessions let me a little love over on her blog yesterday! {yay}

My First Blog Award :)

On Monday, I was graciously given - by Miss Chocolate Lover - the Kreativ Blogger award!
This is my first and am so completely excited to have received it.
What I have to do:
1. Post 7 facts about myself
2. Pass this award to 7 wonderfully amazing bloggers

Here are the facts:
1. I constantly coo over babies, cats, and puppies, and cannot wait to have my own.
2. If I could blog, bake, and color/do crafts all day long, I totally would! Those are probably my favorite current hobbies.
3. I am no stranger to hospitals. I have had 4 eye surgeries, a tonsillectomy, and my wisdom teeth removed. All in all - 6 surgeries in my life...so far.
4. I hate driving by huge holes in the road {not potholes} and ravines. I hate walking over grates on the sidewalk too. I'm always afraid I might fall in!
5. I said "I love you" to Mr. GrapeJuice first and waited about 2 weeks for him say it back. {Talk about feeling vulnerable!!}
6. As much as I'm a girlie girl, I still haven't found the perfect makeup because I can't figure out my skin {both complexion and type} and what looks good with it {and on me}.
7. I drool and dream when watching Broadway musicals. I desperately want to be like the actors in the shows! {I'm still waiting for my big break but not actively seeking it.}

I will be passing this award along to the following lovelies:

Letter and a Makeover

As you can see, today I did a little fall cleaning on my blog. I was getting a little blog-envy of everyone who had nice and clean looking blogs. I took it upon myself to try and spruce mine up today. {I mean, I have been up since 4:30am for no reason! What else was I supposed to do?}

The following blogs/people deserve credit for helping me update the look:
1. Blog Background Design - Aqua Poppy Designs
2. Sidebar/Post/Blog Title/Signature Font - Kevin & Amanda
3. Tutorial for Changing Sidebar & Post Font - Kevin & Amanda
4. New Twitter Button - Just Something I Made
5. Dingbats for Signature and Blog Title - FontSpace

And now, a letter...

Dear Girl in the Blue Dress,
When you woke up this morning, did you notice that it was raining? When you walked out to your car, did you notice then? Then, why did you insist on wearing a summery blue dress and flip flops? Why did you feel the need to literally run [with a disgusted look on your face] into Target? Do you not have an umbrella or raincoat? And, why did you need to run out of Target two minutes later without having purchased a thing - especially an umbrella? And, furthermore, do you realize that it is fall and your dress is no longer in season?
A Concerned Citizen :)
