Today is THE Day

It's New Year's Eve 2010.
I am marrying my best friend.
I can't believe this day is all ready here.
Since I was little, I had longed for this day, and now that it's here, I'm wishing time had slowed down.
I didn't know it would be here so quickly!
For the first time all week, I don't have somewhere to rush off to in the morning.
I am lounging in bed at my parent's place before I tackle a few last minute errands.
I am hoping that this day will be relaxing and not stressful.
The church is decorated; the reception hall has been decorated since Wednesday morning; the rehearsal is complete.
Now, all that's left on my To Do List is to relax and enjoy this day.
I'm fairly certain that I can succeed in this task.
In less than 12 hours, I will be pronounced Mrs. GrapeJuice, and we will live in peace and harmony for the next seventy plus years!
What a way to ring in the new year.
2011, here we come!!!!!!!!

2 Years! (& a Giveaway)

I honestly cannot believe that Mr. GrapeJuice and I have hit the two year mark! It seems like we just met. I'll never forget that night.

It was January and nearly midnight, and it began to flurry outside {in NC}. My college BFF K-Bean {who is
from Savannah} and I got killer excited and started prancing around {and making fools of ourselves} in the snow! We were thoroughly enjoying it knowing full well that school would be closed the next day. However, Mr. GrapeJuice told us we were wrong and that we would have class the next day. K-Bean and I bust out in laughter. Everyone in the South knows that even a small dusting of snow means that school will be canceled.
 {K-Bean and I being silly. We were practicing our show choreography.}
{I'm the girl in the dark red jacket; he's the guy on the right side of the picture in the gray jacket.}
{This is when he's telling us that what's falling isn't enough to cancel school.}

For the next month, Mr. GrapeJuice and I started to hang out a lot. Apparently, during the fall semester, we had admired each other from afar without even realizing it. About two weeks after knowing each other, I told K-Bean that I thought I might have a crush on Mr. GrapeJuice. In February, Mr. GrapeJuice and I were jokingly lamenting our lack of Valentine's; so, we agreed to be each others. Easy fix! We didn't exactly get to Valentine's Day before he asked me to be his girlfriend. It was like 2 minutes until midnight though. =] He got me some adorable cute things though. A bear, which I still have to this day, a rose, and a sweet card for our first Valentine's Day.

I didn't have class for awhile that day so I relaxed in K-Bean's room and watched Love, Actually, which apparently a poor decision as Mr. GrapeJuice had planned to watch it with me later that night. However, that night he took me to Chili's for our first date. He kept it a complete secret from me the whole day; so sweet. I had to rush out of my class and all the way back to my dorm to get ready in time. We had to rush to eat because I had to be at rehearsal at 6:30 for the show I was choreographing. We still had a wonderful time eating dinner and getting to know each other!

Without a doubt, these past two years have flown by. I had no idea I would be here or doing this. I mean, getting married? Teaching at a school I used to attend? Buying a house? Planning a wedding? Phew! Best two years together. I can't wait for the rest of our lives. =]

In honor of being together for two years, I have decided to host my first giveaway. [I also happen to have 50+ followers now too.] I will be giving away a set of personalized note cards from Just Wright Designs, a personalized hanger from Lila Frances, and a gift card for MyWeddingFavors.com.

To enter my giveaway:
1. You must be a follower {and tell me that you are in a comment}
2. Tell me about how you and your honey met or tell me how you would like to meet your future honey {in a separate comment from the one above}
3. Follow me on Twitter and tweet about the giveaway {in a separate comment}
4. Post about it on your blog {leave another comment with the url}

That's FOUR ways to enter!!
:)
I will announce the winner on February 22, 2010!

Surprise Wedding Reception

I was clicking around YouTube this morning and found a wonderfully sweet video. It's by a group called Improv Everywhere, and they stage scenes in random places at random times. This scene really touched my heart because not everyone has the luxury of throwing a wedding and having all the amenities that come with it. I hope you enjoy the video.

A Great Combination

On the weekends, I tend to spend a great deal of my time on the Internet. {i know. it's sad.} But, I'm glad that I was over this past weekend because I got to see one of the greatest things ever!

I, for one, love to bake...everything! And, I love to read Bakerella. She has the cutest ideas, and every time I see a recipe, I get the urge to make it! Talk about relating to your readers. :)
{if you love mini foods like i do, bakerella is the blog for you!}

On Sunday, Bakerella focused on cake pops - one of the many popular items on her recipe blog. But, not just any cake pops. Oh no! WEDDING cake pops!!!!!

Photo : Bakerella

Don't they just look absolutely delectable? I think so! But, that's not the best part. Not by far. Because, at the end of the post, she did the following for a friend. {so sweet}

All Photos : Bakerella

{don't worry. she sad YES!}
And, that's why it is a great combination! It combines my two favorite things in life right now - weddings and baking!

Golden Birthday on the Way!

Today is October 1st {in case you didn't all ready know that}!
Mr. GrapeJuice's birthday is October 22nd.
That means we currently have 21 more days until we celebrate!!!!!!

Last night, while he was at an interview {which we nicknamed a "winner-view" in hopes that we will get the job}, I slipped out to Opry Mills and headed straight to Fossil.
I picked up a little gift there for a cool $50!
The sales associate there was super helpful too and willing to deal with my picky tastes.

But, now, I'm pondering whether or not to get another gift for him.
He's a sports guy; no doubt!!
Any suggestions?
I do have some time to contemplate and purchase things.

He keeps saying that he wants to eat at Valentino's.
Would that be a sufficient second "gift?"

You're probably curious as to what a "golden" birthday is, too!
It's when you turn the age of your birthday.
For example, Mr. GrapeJuice will be 22 on October 22nd.
Some people call them grand birthdays, lucky birthdays, champagne birthdays, or star birthdays.
I can't wait to celebrate Mr. GrapeJuice's!
{which is why I don't mind spending a decent amount of money}

Mr. GrapeJuice is HOME!

If you haven't noticed, I'm really, really excited that Mr. GrapeJuice is back in my life!! He's been gone since mid-July, and I missed him. He brought me a surprise last night too! {Sadly, it was not a cute puppy or kitten though...} What he brought me was flowers!! And, he thought about it the color scheme too. He brought me a purple-themed bouquet instead of a yellow one because it was more fall. Isn't he thoughtful?!?!?!

E-Card from Mr. R

I got an e-card from R today. I saw that I had while I was at work, and I wanted to watch it so bad but my silly phone wouldn't let me. I waited all day!!!!

It was totally worth it though. Such a sweet card!!

Love Match-matics:
You x Me = Love squared
You/Me = 1
You + Me = Everything!
Me - You = Nothing
Without you,
My love formula is zero!
Missing you...

Personal message:
Hey baby. I love you so much and you are the love of my life. I can't wait to see you cuz I miss you very very much.
(please excuse his not-so-great grammar)

7 days!!!!

A Little Baggage

Please excuse my emotional instability...
I love R - no matter what I say or how I act towards him. But, I fear that I'm in that phase where I'm trying to push him away to see if he'll stay. And, truth be told, I hate it. I want to get over it - if that's what it truly is.

We've been together for 1 year, 6 months, 11 days. I'm very proud of that. It's the longest relationship I've had and by far the best!! From the moment I met him, we had a special connection. {{We met on a snow day, which is significant to me because I was born during a freak snow "storm" in March of 1987.}}

But, I want to laugh with him again. I don't want to be annoyed by simple little things and then start a fight because of it, which even I know is ridiculous. I want him to consider me "fun." I don't want to be the boring girl who sits at home at night. I want to be the girl that goes out to a bar at night to grab a drink.

I know I have anxieties toward trying new things, but I've been out to a club - sans R and with R. Neither were that great. I'm slightly claustrophobic. {{Thanks, Mom!!}} But, maybe if I started slow, like at a nice, clean bar in an open, classy place??

I don't know. I think I'm just rambling. Shame on me for drinking a Long Island Ice Tea tonight. {{You can thank it for my whiny-ness.}}

But, really, we have good conversations, and there's no doubt that I absolutely, positively, without a single doubt in my mind love him!! I just want us to stop saying what we don't like about each other. I want us to be happier - like we were when we began dating...when I did the cooking and laundry for him and he spoiled me with little trinkets.

Any suggestions???

I totally plan on marrying him still, and I know a relationship takes work...but I want it to be better than it is right now. {{Maybe the stress of not having jobs is/was taking a toll on us??}}

Whatever the case my be...what can you suggest to make it better??

Love is Real

I was going through pictures on my computer randomly, and I found two of my favorite photos from my graduation back in May.
I thought I'd share them.
They make me smile.

Wedding Fact Friday

This sounds a little messy to me...
I wonder if it works though???

Also, a text message I got from R last night: "I love you like a fish loves bait."

Late Night Musings

On my drive into Green Hills tonight {which takes 20 minutes} and on my way back to Mt. Juliet {also 20 minutes}, I had lots of time to think. These are just random things, but I thought I'd share them anyway.

There is one thing I always look for when I drive out to the Green Hills/West End area of town, and that is about a pothole. A pothole?? Yes, a pothole. And, just why am I thinking about a pothole?? Well, I'll tell you.

At the 24/440 split coming from MJ, there used to be a pothole in the shape of a heart. I wish I had a picture of it, but I promise you it was there. On the bridge to 440. It always stuck out to me.

Throughout high school as I drove to school each morning, I looked at that pothole and was immediately cheered up. Recently, within the year, it was patched. However, you could still see the outline of the pothole that used to be, and I was still warmed by this pothole in the shape of a heart. {By now, you probably think I'm crazy. But, honestly, I have a point.}

Well, tonight I drove out to Green Hills to see Julie&Julia with MC, my Maid of Honor, and I noticed something odd. The road had been recently paved. They paved right over my heart pothole. It's gone. I no longer have something to look at but just a memory of a heart pothole that used to be.

But, here's my point, and I hope you don't think I'm insane for this analogy. I feel as if the heart pothole represented my heart. Before I met R, my heart was empty - thus the heart shaped pothole. Once I met R, my heart was full - ergo the filled in heart pothole. And, now that R has proposed and we are getting married, the pothole has been sealed over as if to say that we have made the right decision to spend the rest of our lives together. In essence, we sealed the deal.

Am I truly crazy for relating my love life to a pothole in the shape of a heart?? I hope not. I think I shall call it a sign from God. I think it sounds better!! :)

p.s. This is not my pothole. It kind of looks like it though.

My Sister's Wedding

On Friday, I put up some pictures of R and I at my sister's wedding, which you can see in the post below. Last night, while bored and sitting in my room, I went through my sister's engagement and wedding pictures. I picked the ones that I liked and made some wedding boards out of them to show you guys. They turned out really well...as did her wedding. If you didn't all ready know, she planned her wedding in three months and it looked great. She said she wouldn't change a single thing about it. (Wouldn't we all like to be in her shoes?) Again, all photo credit goes to Mitchel's Photography!

Stuck

I really have nothing of consequence on my mind right now...wedding wise. Sorry. :( I am currently stuck in the 19th century. You're probably asking yourself how and why. Well, to be quite honest, I've had a book on my bookshelf for about two years because it intrigued me and was on sale. When I bought it, I had every intention of reading it, but school got in the way. Now that I'm unemployed and have come the realization that I spend far too much time on the computer, I have dug out my collection of untouched books. The particular book that I read yesterday is called The Secret History of the Pink Carnation by Lauren Willig. It is part of a series. Guess what I'm doing today. Yeah, reading book two. I currently have books two, three, and four in my possession. (Sorry MJ Library readers. Hope you weren't planning on reading them any time soon.) If you like romance and are tired of reading the usual book that you have predicted the ending by page 20, then this series is totally for YOU!! The tag line for the series is: "Intrigue. Espionage. Romance. Swordplay. Comedy." Check out Lauren Willing at her site!! You know you want to...

P.S. Read it while listening to classical music. Totally sets the mood.

I'm going to leave you with this cute, little text message I got from R randomly yesterday. It totally explains why I love him.

"Hey. I heard that love is now spelled: C...A...S...S...I...E."

Makes me miss him so much. The end of August needs to hurry up and get here!!
