Wedding Fact Friday

First, I just want to say thanks to everyone for their advice and wisdom yesterday.
I was so glad to read your advice, and I will definitely keep it in my mind.

Now something sweet to end your week.

Overwhelmed...in a Good Way

This week has been hard...in multiple ways. I won't go into much detail here because no one wants to read a sob story, but I've decided to leave my job. I love the kids and the school, but I just need something more. I will be working there until December and after that, I will begin full-time subbing in the surrounding school systems. I've talked to many people and have come to the conclusion that this is the only way to eventually get my own classroom. There has also been a lack communication going on at work which has resulted in more drama than I care to be involved in - which is why my week has sucked!

However, I am excited to be moving forward in my career! And, it has been wonderful to work in a different teaching environment than I am trained. :) So, over the next two months {can you believe that's all that is left in the year 2009???}, I will be filling out paperwork to become a substitute!

In somewhat lighter news, Maria over at A Chocolate Lover's Confessions let me a little love over on her blog yesterday! {yay}

For Your Dress

I don't know if you've seen this yet, but it's been saved in my favorites for quite some time now.
I think it is a really cute idea!!
Not only will it remind you of what you are becoming once you put the dress on, but it'll look AWESOME in pictures!
Imagine having your dress shot taken with it hanging off of such a precious piece.
{plus, the pricing is great}

.:Bridesmaids, Mothers, etc. - take note of this because it would be a great Bridal Shower gift too!:.

A Sweet Tooth

Everyone's talking about candy bars, sundae bars, popcorn bars, spice bars, etc.
While I don't necessarily want to have one of those, I do want some candy at my wedding.
And, what's better than rock candy?
Photo : Hoosier Historic Enterprises

And, this would be a great DIY project/science experiment!!
My little brother {he's 8} loves to do science experiments.
So, I think this would be an awesome Saturday activity.
Maybe we'll try it out soon to get all the details down; so by the time the wedding rolls around, we'll know what to do!

{plus, we are expecting to have kids at the wedding so this'll keep 'em occupied...along with a rockin' DJ!}

Musical Monday - KC and JoJo

This song reminds me of Junior High.
{oh my}
:)
I love it though; makes my heart swell every time!

All My Life

I will never find another lover sweeter than you
sweeter than you
And I will never find another lover more precious than you
more precious than you
'cause girl you are
Close to me your like my mother
Close to me your like my father
Close to me your like my sister
Close to me your like my brother
You are the only one in my everything and for you this song I sing

All my life
I've prayed for someone like you
And I thank God that I, that I finally found you
All my life
I prayed for someone like you
And I hope that you feel the same way too
Yes, I pray that you do love me too

I said you're all that I'm thinkin' of......baby

Said, I promise to never fall in love with a stranger
You're all I'm thinkin' of
I praise the lord above
For sending me your love
I cherish every hug
I really LOVE you

And all my life (Ohhhh...baby, baby)
I've prayed for someone like you,
And I thank God that I...that I finally found you,
All my life I prayed for someone like you
And I hope that you feel the same way too
Yes, I pray that you do love me

You're all that I ever known
When you smile, on my face, all I see is a glow
You turned my life around
You picked me up when I was down
You're all that I ever known
When you smile my face glow
You picked me up when I was down
Say...You're all that I ever known
When you smile my face glow
You picked me up when I was down
And I hope that you feel the same way too
Yes I pray that you do love me too

All my life
I prayed for someone like you
And I thank God that I, that I finally found you
All my life
I prayed for someone like you
Yes, I pray that you do love me too
All my life
I prayed for someone like you
And I thank God that I, that I finally found you
All my life
I prayed for someone like you
Yes, I pray that you do love me too
All my life
I prayed for someone like you
And I thank God that I, that I finally found you

A Great Combination

On the weekends, I tend to spend a great deal of my time on the Internet. {i know. it's sad.} But, I'm glad that I was over this past weekend because I got to see one of the greatest things ever!

I, for one, love to bake...everything! And, I love to read Bakerella. She has the cutest ideas, and every time I see a recipe, I get the urge to make it! Talk about relating to your readers. :)
{if you love mini foods like i do, bakerella is the blog for you!}

On Sunday, Bakerella focused on cake pops - one of the many popular items on her recipe blog. But, not just any cake pops. Oh no! WEDDING cake pops!!!!!

Photo : Bakerella

Don't they just look absolutely delectable? I think so! But, that's not the best part. Not by far. Because, at the end of the post, she did the following for a friend. {so sweet}

All Photos : Bakerella

{don't worry. she sad YES!}
And, that's why it is a great combination! It combines my two favorite things in life right now - weddings and baking!

Musical Monday - Journey

While cliche and quite over played, I enjoy this song very much!
:)

Just a small town girl, livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin' anywhere
Just a city boy, born and raised in south detroit
He took the midnight train goin anywhere

A singer in a smokey room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on

Strangers waiting, up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people, living just to find emotion
Hiding, somewhere in the night

Working hard to get my fill,
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin' anything to roll the dice,
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to the feelin'
Streetlight people

{lyrics from : LyricsFreak}

p.s. This is for you, Tennessee Titans. I know you lost bad yesterday, but you got to play in the snow. That's a plus!

Random Thoughts on a Thursday

Random #1:
I know you some of you ladies love Dave Barnes!
Because of this, I have a video to share with you of two guys that I know [from college] singing with him at a concert.
{{i have that "proud mom" feeling about this video - you know the one!}}

Random #2:
Mr. GrapeJuice and I watched Bill Cosby on the Leno Show last night.
Did you see it?
If not, he talked a little bit about the wedding day and who HE thinks should walk the bride down the aisle and why.
[there is some odd music in the background but bear through it]

Like I'm on Meds. . .

I don't really have much to say.
All of yesterday and last night wore me out.
Mr. GrapeJuice's surgery was successful, but he now has a long recovery ahead of him.
Since I've been taking care of him, I feel a little disoriented.
I guess that should be expected though, right?
I do have a little bit of wedding related news.
Mr. GrapeJuice likes the wedding dress designer I've been drooling over for the past couple of months - Sophia Tolli.
{I also posted about her dresses awhile back too.}
This makes me feel good about my choices so far that are wedding related.
We really seem to be on the same page!!

Music Monday - Air Supply

Although I would not pick this song of my own volition, Mr. GrapeJuice is currently in the hospital and having surgery. So, I decided to ask him Saturday what song he would like me to feature. After he looked at me like I was crazy, he started singing "All Out of Love."
Oh, yes.
Yes, he did!
:)
So, since I love my future hubs so much, I will feature Air Supply today! Hope you enjoy it and that it doesn't get stuck in your head too long today!!

I'm lying alone with my head on the phone
Thinking of you till it hurts
I know you hurt too but what else can we do
Tormented and torn apart

I wish I could carry your smile in my heart
For times when my life seems so low
It would make me believe what tomorrow could bring
When today doesnt really know, doesnt really know

I'm all out of love, Im so lost without you
I know you were right, believing for so long
I'm all out of love, what am I without you
I cant be too late to say I was so wrong

I want you to come back and carry me home
Away from these long, lonely nights
I'm reaching for you, are you feeling it too?
Does the feeling seem oh, so right?

And what would you say if I called on you now
And said that I cant hold on?
Theres no easy way, it gets harder each day
Please love me or Ill be gone, Ill be gone

Ooh, what are you thinking of
What are you thinking of
What are you thinking of
What are you thinking of

My First Blog Award :)

On Monday, I was graciously given - by Miss Chocolate Lover - the Kreativ Blogger award!
This is my first and am so completely excited to have received it.
What I have to do:
1. Post 7 facts about myself
2. Pass this award to 7 wonderfully amazing bloggers

Here are the facts:
1. I constantly coo over babies, cats, and puppies, and cannot wait to have my own.
2. If I could blog, bake, and color/do crafts all day long, I totally would! Those are probably my favorite current hobbies.
3. I am no stranger to hospitals. I have had 4 eye surgeries, a tonsillectomy, and my wisdom teeth removed. All in all - 6 surgeries in my life...so far.
4. I hate driving by huge holes in the road {not potholes} and ravines. I hate walking over grates on the sidewalk too. I'm always afraid I might fall in!
5. I said "I love you" to Mr. GrapeJuice first and waited about 2 weeks for him say it back. {Talk about feeling vulnerable!!}
6. As much as I'm a girlie girl, I still haven't found the perfect makeup because I can't figure out my skin {both complexion and type} and what looks good with it {and on me}.
7. I drool and dream when watching Broadway musicals. I desperately want to be like the actors in the shows! {I'm still waiting for my big break but not actively seeking it.}

I will be passing this award along to the following lovelies:

My Weekend Recap

After work on Friday (around 6pm), I went and picked up Mr. GrapeJuice.
We headed to get dinner, coffee, and gas in Providence before hitting the road.
We left the area around 7pm and arrived in Belmont, NC at about 2am.
After arriving, we began to make the rounds to see everyone.
Smartly, most people were asleep, but we somehow managed to stay up until 4am!!

I then woke up at 8am the next morning.
[yes, i know. only 4 hours of sleep!!]
As soon as I woke up, my bestest from school and twin sis in our sorority K-Bean said she wanted Mimosas.
So, what did I do while she was at the cross country meet?
I went to Walmart and bought some orange juice and champagne!
Once K-Bean returned from the meet, we headed to Mass because she was a reader.
Meanwhile, our mimosas waited for us in her fridge.
After Mass, we headed back to her room, with a few extra people in tow, and we enjoyed our lovely mimosas.
[by this time it's around 12pm]
After enjoying our adult beverages, K-Bean and I parted ways for a little while.
She had to go set up a tent for the soccer games, and I needed to eat something.
Mr. GrapeJuice and I walked down to Holy Grounds, which is kind of like a Panera {sandwiches, coffee, soups, etc}.
While there, we met up with practically everyone we hadn't seen yet and ate lunch with them.
After eating, we headed to the field to watch the soccer games.
[Belmont Abbey College does not have a football team.]
We were at the soccer games {both men and women} until about 5pm.
Within that span of time, I got my hand painted and took multiple sorority pictures.
{{Just the family minus my big. Me in the middle ['cause I'm the alum], my little on the left [in the red], and K-Bean on the end on the right [with her sunglasses on]}}
{{Our token picture - our family has big boobs so we like to present them}}
{{this isn't everybody but a good portion of us; we're the biggest sorority on campus}}
{{Me and my little}}

I also attended the Volleyball game during the second half of the girls' soccer game.
Volleyball didn't win but both soccer teams did!!
[despite the Ref's vision problems]
:)

After the games ended, Mr. GrapeJuice and I headed to dinner and the mall.
Silly me brought a white shirt to wear and only had a purple bra with me.
[what else was I supposed to do?]
So, I go into Victoria Secret fully settled on spending the normal $50.
I talk with the sales associate about what I'm looking for in a bra, and she points in the direction of two that I might like.
I decided on the one style and have Mr. GrapeJuice help me pick between a dark nude and a light, blush pink.
[he tells me to go with the pink because it'll make my skin better since I'm so pale]
Well, he is a genius!!
Not only do I love the bra, but it only cost me $14!!!
I had no idea until I got to the register!
It was a red line sale bra.
Talk about luck and good fortune.

After leaving the mall and eating dinner, we headed back to get ready for the school's production of The Importance of Being Earnest.
I used to do theatre there and always love to see a good show.
I was not disappointed at all!

After the show [around 10pm], it was time to get our drink on!!
Well, not me.
I was too tired all ready and would have passed out if I had drank anything.
Mr. GrapeJuice did though, which is fine by me.
All I really cared about was hanging out with everyone and having a good time, which I did.
And so did Mr. GrapeJuice.
He is not Southern by any means, which is why I had to snap this picture.
[sorry for the poor quality]

My night ended around 2am when I couldn't possibly keep my eyes open anymore.
Mr. GrapeJuice's ended around 5am.
[he had gotten more sleep than I had the night before]

The next morning we woke and enjoyed pancakes and bacon with all our friends before hitting the road.
We had a great time and accomplished a LOT in one day!!

Musical Monday - S Club 7

Last night, after getting in from a crazy weekend in North Carolina, I showed Mr. GrapeJuice what I had done with my blog. [you know, the upgrade I gave it?] And...he was quite impressed! :) It make me proud that I can still impress him.

At any rate, this weekend went by so quickly. I can't even fathom that everything I did happen in ONE day on only 4 HOURS of sleep! But, more on that tomorrow.

For now, on to my Musical Monday section...

Do you remember S Club 7?
On my road trip this weekend, I became reacquainted with the group via my iPod.
Mr. GrapeJuice and I even came up with a little dance to one of the songs.
[actually, I came up with the dance, and he did it too just to amuse me]

When the world, leaves you feeling blue
You can count on me, I will be there for you
When it seems, all your hopes and dreams
Are a million miles away, I will re-assure you

We've got to all stick together
Good friends, there for each other
Never ever forget that
I've got you and you've got me, so

Reach for the stars
Climb every mountain higher
Reach for the stars
Follow your hearts desire
Reach for the stars
And when that rainbow's shining over you
That's when your dreams will all come true

There's a place waiting just for you
Is a special place where your dreams all come true
Fly away, swim the ocean blue
Drive that open road, leave the past behind you
Don't stop gotta keep moving
Your hopes have gotta keep building
Never ever forget that
I've got you and you've got me, so

Reach for the stars
Climb every mountain higher
Reach for the stars
Follow your hearts desire
Reach for the stars
And when that rainbow's shining over you
That's when your dreams will all come true

Don't believe in all that you've been told
The sky's the limit you can reach your goal
No-one knows just what the future holds
There ain't nothing you can't be
There's a whole world at your feet
I said reach

Climb every mountain (reach)
Reach for the moon (reach)
Follow that rainbow
And your dreams will all come true

Reach for the stars
Climb every mountain higher
Reach for the stars
Follow your hearts desire
Reach for the stars
And when that rainbow's shining over you
That's when your dreams will all come true
Reach for the stars
Climb every mountain higher
Reach for the stars
Follow your hearts desire
Reach for the stars
And when that rainbow's shining over you
That's when your dreams will all come true
Reach for the stars
Climb every mountain higher

Wedding Fact Friday

While I would not want to be married at age 5, I still think this is a sweet sentiment.

Road Trip

After I get off of work today {around 6pm}, I will be making a 6-hour drive to Belmont, North Carolina.
Photo
Never heard of it?
That's okay!
It's a small town right outside of Charlotte, NC!
Photo
But why I am going there?
Because it's homecoming weekend, also known as alumni weekend, at Belmont Abbey College.
{this is where Mr. GrapeJuice and I attended college and met}
