I Wish...

...that my school wouldn't flood!

Apparently, in the downpour that occurred Saturday, my school flooded...again.
Not only that, but worse than the floods at the beginning of May.
I don't know how it happened...but it needs to stop.
Mmkay?

thanks.

Why I Love My Sister

This is why I love my little sister...
She created this gorgeous invite for the wedding.
I'm so stoked!
She also happens to be expecting.
Only one more month to go until my niece graces us with her presence!

If you like my sister's work, you can check out her website.

Musical Monday - GLEE

I wanna hold them like they do in Texas please
Fold em' let em' hit me raise it baby stay with me
Love the game intuition play the cards with spades to start
And after he's been hooked I'll play the one
That's on his heart

ow o-ow ow ow o-ow ow
I'll get him hot, and show him what I've got
ow o-ow ow ow o-ow ow whoaa oh
I'll get him hot, and show him what I've got

Can't read my, can't read my
No he can't read my poker face
She's got to love nobody
Can't read my, can't read my
No he can't read my poker face
She's got to love nobody

Po-po-po-poker face, po-po-poker face
Po-po-po-poker face, po-po-poker face

I wanna roll with him a hard pair we will be
A little gambling is fun when you're with me
Russian Roulette is not the same without a gun
And baby when it's love if its not rough it isn't fun

ow o-ow ow ow o-ow ow
I'll get him hot, and show him what I've got
ow o-ow ow ow o-ow ow
I'll get him hot, and show him what I've got

Can't read my, can't read my
No he can't read my poker face
She's got to love nobody
Can't read my, can't read my
No he can't read my poker face
She's got to love nobody

I won't tell you that I love you
Kiss or hug you cause I'm bluffin
With my muffin
I'm not lying I'm just stunnin with my love-glue-gunning

Just like a chick in the casino
Take your bank before I pay you out
I promise this, promise this
Check this hand cause I am marvelous

I'm marvelous, I'm marvelous
I'm marvelous so marvelous
She's got to love nobody
Can't read my, can't read my
No he can't read my poker face
She's got to love nobody

Ooooo...shiney!

Yesterday, I spent the whole afternoon with my grandmother. It was awesome! We are so much alike, and I absolutely love it. :)
We were on a mission...to find the material for my wedding day necklace.
She's going to make it for me!
{I feel so blessed.}

We found some ivory pearls,

and we found some gray pearls
source :: fire mountain gems

My grandmother is going to make a multi-strand pearl necklace by alternating the stands.
One ivory, one gray, one ivory, one gray, one ivory, and one more gray.
I'm really stoked!
Then, we're going to add an embellishment to the necklace...like a brooch/pin.
My grandma has one that she wore in high school that she let me have.
I played around with it a little today, and here's what I came up with.
Your thoughts?

Grandma also gave me a hair comb that I'm going to try to incorporate into my fascinator and a bracelet that matches both the hair comb and the brooch she gave me.
She also gave me some fabulous clip on earrings that I'm thinking about using as shoe clips...maybe. I'm still undecided on that front.

Yesterday, we also got our wedding bands in the mail!!!!!!
I was so stoked to see that package on the dining room table when I got home.
I tore through it like nobody's business.
:)

Please excuse my horrendous phone pictures.

Shoes...again

On Saturday, Mr. GrapeJuice and I took a little day tip to Chattanooga.
We went to the aquarium. :)
The penguins are super cool!

Anyway, on our back from Chattanooga, we stopped at the shopping center in Murfreesboro that's right of off I-24. I'd never been there before, but they had an Off  Broadway Shoes.
And, as you all know, I'm in some serious need of some wedding day shoes!
So, Mr. GrapeJuice and I popped in there.
I almost found what I was looking for.
I tried on these pretty Luichinies.
source :: shoes.com

They're just not exactly what I'm looking for.
The color's a little too dark, and I'm not completely crazy about the strap.
But, I discovered something interesting when trying them on.
I was still a teeny bit shorter than Mr. GrapeJuice...and they boast that the shoe has a 4.5 inch heel.!!

So,
you best believe that I'm pouncing on these li'l mamas by rsvp!!!!!!!

Hopefully they look good with my dress too!

p.s. Look for a sweet surprise tomorrow!

Wedding Fact Friday

In South Africa...
"...to mark the start of the newlyweds life together, the bride's and groom's parents would traditionally carry a fire from their hearths in their homes to the home of the new couple, where a new fire would be lit."

Wedding Fact Friday

It's back...finally!
I think this has been my favorite part about my wedding blog.
I have seriously enjoyed learning about other wedding traditions around the world.
Today, I'm going to focus on Mexico!

"In Mexico, for example, it is customary during the vows for a white ribbon or for a rosary, called a “lasso,” to be draped around the necks of the newlyweds to symbolize their joining together. "
 source: weddingbee

"It is also customary for the groom to present his wife with thirteen gold coins during the ceremony, symbolizing the groom’s commitment to support his new wife. "

"As the couple leaves the church it is customary for red beads to be tossed at them as a means of insuring the new couple good luck."

On My Head

Since I bought my dress back in January, I have wondered and pondered what to wear on my head. I thought about a cathedral length veil, a chapel length veil, a birdcage veil, etc.Apparently, though, birdcage veils don't look good on me...at all! And, I couldn't find an appropriate length veil that wasn't over $200 dollars. That's a lot of money to spend on a veil that you'll only be wearing for the ceremony. So, I've decided to wear my mother's veil, which I'm very excited about!
Please don't mind my awesome facial expressions...
And, don't worry, we'll be removing the 80s-tasticness of the veil...like the floral nightmare on the crown of it!

Shoe Heartbreak

I cannot begin to tell you how many pairs of shoes I have fallen in love with since I began to look for them back in February. They always seem to be just a little bit out of my reach though.

For example, I found these!
Perfect in almost every single way...except that the heel is 4 inches tall!
Could I walk in them?
You bet your cute butt I could!
Is that the problem?
no.
The problem is that I'm 5'6" - which is average.
Mr. GrapeJuice, however, is 5'11".
The shoes would make me just as tall as him...which he does not like.
Bye Bye, Nearly Perfect Shoes. :(

Then, I met this pair...
It would have been such a great shoe for New Years Eve.
It is supposed to be available through DSW.
Yeeeaaaahhhh. Not so much.
I went to the store in Hendersonville, and they didn't have it.
So, I decided that I would just order them.
Nope. Can't do that either. They're out of my size!
grr.
Now what am I supposed to do?!

Two perfect shoes...gone!
Let me tell you - it's getting a little frustrating.
Not only are there very few shoes that are the color I want them, but most of the ones that are the right are - conveniently - 4 inches or higher!
WHY? WHY? WHY?
Now, I've become consumed with finding the perfect shoes for my wedding day.

Currently, I've got these two pairs of shows on my brain...
This pair, which isn't exactly the right color,
and, this pair, which I would have dyed to be blue.
Who knew the shoe search could be soooooooooooooo exhausting?!

Reckless Abandonment

It's June?!

WHAT?!

Where did the time go?

So much has happened since I last blogged.
I can't believe I abandoned you for nearly a month.
I'm an awful person.
I wish I could say that something devastating happened to me to render me incapable of blogging, but it didn't.
I simply didn't have the time.
Silly career!
Why do you have to suck up all my time?

Well, it's summer time, which means I have time to myself to plan my wedding - finally.
This also means I'll have a lot more content to share with you all!
That's always good, right?

I'll have more tomorrow.
